The effect of artificial intelligence in all areas of our lives will be a topic of conversation in 2023, especially when the results of our research are decided by one.

The project that really managed to change people’s opinion about AI is ChatGPT, a machine learning system that can react like a real person, creating texts on any topic that comes to mind. mind.

In-browser ChatGPT

What if we had this potential built right into the web browser? At Google, they think it could mean the end, and we’re not exaggerating. The company activated “code red” in response to ChatGPT’s success, and according to a leak, it’s working hard to bring something similar into the Google search engine. But it may be late.

Ironically, the winner of this new war may be the search engine that no one admits to using: Microsoft’s Bing. And no, we’re not kidding, even though it seems to be. For years, Bing has been unable to convince users to ditch Google, despite being the default search engine on Windows and Edge. Despite its bad reputation, Bing has many unique features that we would like to see in Google, and in 2023 it will gain more, based on AI and machine learning.

Microsoft Bing

As revealed information, Microsoft has a trick up its sleeve: an agreement to integrate parts of ChatGPT directly into the Bing search engine. This is thanks to the fact that Microsoft is one of the investors in OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT and other AIs, so it has priority access to their technology. In fact, Bing already uses an early version of this AI for search autocomplete, but the ChatGPT implementation would go further.

With this technology, Bing would be able to display results that are not directly based on web pages, but are more natural and seek to answer our questions directly. For example, if we are looking for a historical event, Bing can explain the context and suggest other searches.

This implementation would be released on next march, so Google needs to hurry if it doesn’t want to be left behind. For the first time in a long time, we could have real competition in the web search engine market.
