MediaTek surpasses Qualcomm

MediaTek’s presence in the market has grown and we currently find phones in all ranges with the brand’s processors. This culminated in the manufacturer in 2020 ship 351.8 million processors, a growth of 47.8% over one year. These numbers saw it crowned the top processor supplier for the first time, breaking Qualcomm’s dominance.

In fact, these two brands are expected to use more processors from the Helio and Dimensity line this year in their phones.

Omnia analysts responsible for these numbers in the processor market believe that MediaTek’s success in 2020 is also due to increased sales mid-range and lower-end phones, two segments where the manufacturer is more present and where there has been good progress this year.
