While Lawrence argued that the story was designed to be told in a three-season arc., Sudeikis confirmed that after the three seasons, he could not continue with the project, due to family commitments. Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season are out, they’ll be like, ‘Man, you know what, we got it, we’re good. We don’t need more, we have it. But until that time comes, I will welcome curiosity beyond what we have found so far.
Besides, Sudeikis also talked about the possibility of a possible Ted Lasso spin-off. based on one of the show’s other stars:
Yeah, I think we set the table for all kinds of people…to be able to see the additional narrative of those stories,” he said. Again, I can’t help but take the question as a compliment for what all of us who worked on the show tried to do. It’s really good that people even consider that because you never know what’s going to happen when you do things. The fact that people want more, even though it’s a different track, is nice.
