It’s free, has a spectacular design and is open source

design, free, Open, source, spectacular

I recognize that I have a weakness for time applications. I am fascinated to know the weather forecast and atmospheric events now, in the next hours and days of where I am and where I will be traveling. Google’s weather application seems good to me, but given the quantity and quality of weather applications that exist, I prefer to try several before settling for the one provided by default.

But even though the list of free weather apps on the Google Play Store is long, I admit that the one I like the most is not in the official app store. Do you need to go outside to use a weather app? No, but Breezy Weather is without a doubt the best I’ve tried for the amount of data it offers but especially for the way it displays it. If you like meteorology, I highly recommend you try it.

What Breezy Weather offers and how to download it

Although it is not present in the Google Play Store, installing it on the phone with its APK is not really a mystery: you just have to go to its official repository on GitHub, download it and install after enabling unknown sources. You can do this with complete confidence since this is a project of open source, virus-free, free and uses Open Meteo data.

Once installed, all you have to do is enjoy it. As is usual in this type of applications, it is obligatory to grant certain location authorization so that logically it can offer the time of our location.

If there are two things about this app that I love, they are its design and all the information it provides.

Aesthetically it has the appearance of Material You and clarity, simplicity and colors reign, adapting the background to the weather of the moment and offering the main information at first glance. SO, If you take a quick look, you already know the most important thing.. These data are temperature, wind, ultraviolet index and humidity, as well as the appearance of the sky.

But if you swipe down, the information flow begins: daily forecasts of data such as temperature, air quality, wind, UV index, precipitation, sunshine and the thermal sensation. In the next box we have the same parameters, but this time by hour. The third rectangle shows the air quality in more detail, below that is the pollen, then the sun and moon times and additional information such as visibility or dew point. I insist: If you like data, you’ll love Breezy Weather.

All of this information is available for your location, but you can add more to have this data from other locations and also change the update frequency. If the application is generous in terms of information, the same goes for its configuration: you can change the appearance, change the order of the cards or personalize them to delete some, configure notifications, change the weather source or change the appearance from top to bottom. In summary, has options to bore.
