These new mobiles do not come alone. They will be the ones who release Android 13 in the Chinese brand, although they are by no means the only ones to receive the update. Today, Honor also took the opportunity to present its new system.
So it will be Magic OS 7.0
The first change Magic OS 7.0 introduces to the system is obvious: a name change. Until now, the customization layer has been called Magic UI, and moving to “OS” is a good indicator of how things will change. Basically, Honor wants to go from a simple “interface” to a “complete system”.
Magic OS 7.0 will be the first step for Honor to establish a certain independence, a different path from other Android mobile manufacturers. Recall that Honor previously belonged to Huawei and therefore its software was the same; It is true that we still see a lot of Huawei influences in Magic OS, but hopefully they will diversify completely over time.
As of now, the changes aren’t as numerous as the name change might imply. In terms of interface we won’t notice any big differences, although there will be in the form of new icons, new larger folders on the home screen and a new font called Honor sans which will appear on all Honor products.

That’s the key, that Honor points to an ecosystem of its own; one of the big news is MagicRing, a new way to transfer files between Honor devices, whether mobile phones, tablets or laptops. In addition to images and other types of files, we can also share the contents of our clipboard, such as the text that we have copied.

Magic OS will accommodate more device types, especially larger screens like foldable phones and tablets. This will be where we can take advantage of the new split screen and where we can better take advantage of new functions such as “Magic Text”, which is able to recognize text in images and save it as a PDF file, something useful for creating documents. The inclusion of a new default video editor is also welcome.

In addition to the new phones announced today, Magic OS 7.0 will be coming to various devices over the next few months. However, at the moment Honor has only given information about the launch in China, and we will have to wait for more details on its global launch.
