We’ve been hearing rumors of a second-generation AirPods Pro for a long time, starting a few months last year it looked like his release was imminent, but we are moving forward in 2022 without further news. Now Ming-Chi Kuo puts them on the schedule.
New AirPods Pro
in a tweetfamed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims we’ll see the AirPods Pro 2 in the second half of this year. A generation from which we expect a major overhaul, surely in line with some of the latest Beats models.
The analyst claims that, unlike the AirPods 3, Apple will discontinue the current AirPods Pro to prevent the new model from falling into the shadow of the current one in terms of demand. A move that was not made with the AirPods 3 and which, according to Kuo, resulted in a 30% reduction in AirPods 3 production.
Compiling part of the rumor around these new headphones, we find, in addition to the redesign, a new “significantly better” chip to optimize sound quality, perhaps with support for Lossless. Also improvements in noise cancellation and battery life and a redesign of the charging case, capable of emitting sound to help us locate it.
It’s early to talk about dates, but IThe second half of the year begins with WWDC 2022. For now, we can only wait for more leaks or rumors, but we can’t upload it as one of the surprises of this developer conference.
