Manufacturers of mobile devices, whether mobile phones, tablets or wearables, usually update them from time to time. adding new features (especially with the arrival of a new version of the operating system) or simply to correct bugs and improve security. Now it’s the turn of Samsung’s latest smartwatches, which have received an update with promising new features.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and Galaxy Watch 6 have started receiving a patch with three important improvementsincluding the correction of minor system errors and new features for users who play sports: it is now possible to view all statistics and exercises performed on televisions and other screens using the watch.
These are the improvements brought with the latest Galaxy Watch 6 update
System update for Samsung smartwatches comes with new firmware version XXU1AXB7. First of all, and as is usually expected from these types of updates, the patch includes security improvements for devices, which have not been updated since late 2023, so this is an important fix for users.
Second, this patch includes a touch screen firmware update, something that is not very common, so we expect improvements in the behavior and operation of the touch screen of Samsung smart watches. There is no information that the screen had any problem or irregular operation so far, so this improvement is attracting a lot of attention.
Finally, the update includes support for a function called “Workout Tracker”, or exercise tracking, which allows us to view on giant screens all the data on the physical and sporting activities that we practice when we wear the watch . The function is compatible with TVs, smart monitors and projectors from modern Samsung devices, provided that the user is logged in with the same Samsung account on the TV or monitor and on the watch.
We have been able to verify that the update is now available for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and Galaxy Watch 6 in Bluetooth version, and should also soon reach models with LTE connection. To update the watch it is necessary to access the settings menu of the smartwatch and download the update, or do so from the Galaxy Wear app on the smartphone with which it is associated.
