If Android Auto is already updated so you can control connected smart devices in your home, version 8.7 is now coming with the hope that at some point it will be activated from the server the new “Coolwalk” design. A hope that leads to frustration.
[Analizamos el nuevo Android Auto con la interfaz multiventana]
Android Auto remains virtually the same
Coolwalk is the redesign announced by Google itself in the first days of the year which will modify the interface for divide it into several sections and thus optimize the space of the large screens carried by the cars.
Even today, Android Auto was updated to version 8.7, but this revamp is nowhere to be found and the announcement made by Google It already seems a long time ago. Over the past couple of months the app has been updated several times but without these expected changes to give the car another experience.
And although in the notes of this new version there are some bug fixesthey are still anecdotal to be part of all those versions in which we expected “Coolwalk” to be activated at some point.
In fact, although some users received this new redesign, the vast majority still do not see it to almost make it clear that it looks like Google has a problem with this.
The truth is that major release deployments they take timebut it is very rare that Coolwalk is seen in any region and continues with the same interface for months.
We can cite a survey conducted by 9to5Google, in which 90% of its readers confirmed that they had not received the new version of the interface. And by another user quoted, it was in Android Auto 8.6 when Coolwalk arrived.
Major or minor bugs, but it is true that Google is struggling to get this interface to its users and, as happens in many cases, don’t show your head so as not to have to report it. We will now wait for the next version, or this server-side activation to be able to announce the full arrival in Europe.
