Figures recently shared by Strategy Analytics indicate that Apple has sold an estimate of 5.7 million computers in the first quarter of this year 2021. This would imply growth 94% compared to the same period last year.
In 2020, the company sold 2.9 million laptops, a very small number but quite reasonable considering the situation in which the world of the tech industry – as well as many other industries – was involved due to the complex health situation that we let’s cross.
Either way, global laptop sales this year are a good indication that the situation is slowly returning to normal. These statistics of computers sold in the first quarter of 2021 include MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, excluding iMac, Mac Pro and Mac mini products, which has a lot of credit for the bitten apple logo company.
Global Laptop Sales in Q1 2021
As you can see from the statistical table we share below, Apple has been ranked number 4 of the world’s largest laptop sellers, only behind companies such as Lenovo, HP and Dell. The other firms are also showing good growth compared to the first quarter of 2020.
Finally, Apple mandated one 8.4% market share of laptops in industry. For its part, Lenovo occupies the first place with a market share of 23.9% and 16.3 million units sold.
While Strategy Analytics figures only reflect MacBook Air and MacBook Pro sales, it’s worth noting that Mac sales grew 110% in the first quarter of 2021, according to IDC.
