The Mac cursor is designed to be displayed by default with a white outline and black fill. It’s a good combination, which makes it easy to spot no matter what content is on the screen.
However, you might prefer to edit and customize it however you like, either because you want to change its color or change its size to make it more visible. In earlier versions of macOS, you couldn’t change the cursor color without using a third-party utility.
This changed with the arrival of macOS MontereySince it is now possible to easily change the colors of the slider to something easier to see with the eye or just to give it some personality.
For its adjustment, you need to access the “Accessibility” panel by entering “System Preferences”. This is how you do it.
How to change the cursor color in macOS Monterey
- You need to go to “System Preferences” and click on “Accessibility”.
- In the left column, find the “Vision” section and select “Display”.
- Click on the ‘Pointer’ tab located in the right section.
- Here you will find two parameters; on the one hand, the color of the outline of the pointer, and on the other hand, its fill color. Click the color swatch button next to each setting and the color picker palette will appear.
- Select the colors you want. If you want to go back to the default black and white, just click on the “Reset” button.
- Close ‘System Preferences’.
