The fever of dark funds and interfaces reaches Microsoft with its famous Office application for Android: its users can select dark mode in settings to turn it on manually; or let this mode activate or deactivate depending on the system settings.
Maybe dark mode isn’t as hot as it was a little over a year ago, as little by little the most popular apps assumed the dark theme among their customization options. Thanks to the hoop, they went from Google itself with Android to most of its applications; with companies like Twitter, Facebook or WhatsApp creating interfaces suitable for dark colors. What would you like to use Microsoft Office without having the white background obstructing your view? It is already possible. Or almost.
Microsoft Office allows you to adjust the theme manually or according to the system
It cannot be said that this is a function that greatly improves the capabilities of Microsoft Office since the famous after mobile office automation includes as standard all the potential that this implies combine most applications into one. Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, document scanner … Now with the possibility to activate dark mode.
The novelty, as detailed by Microsoft, has already reached the Android application. This application will be updated to bring the expected novelty; a process that it can be extended even by a few weeks.
To customize the theme of Microsoft Office for Android, you need to go through the following simple process:
- Open your Office application and click on the profile icon.
- Go to “Settings”.
- There you will see the theme options: choose dark, light or system default. In the latter case, Microsoft Office will adapt to the mode you have selected in your phone settings.
If the theme picker still doesn’t appear, you’ll have to wait: Microsoft is making sure it reaches all Office users over the next few weeks. The company has chosen the black backgrounds for the app with dark gray menus and dialogs.
