This week we got the lead and the data that many have been waiting for months: the ‘Foundation’ trailer and release date. The adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s novels premieres on September 24 and will be one of the biggest Apple TV + events of the year, but there are also other novelties for the service which are worth mentioning.
Musicals to mend relationships
Just above you can see the first official trailer for ‘Schmigadoon‘, the musical that parodies musicals in which the main couple must find a way out of a city where everything that happens becomes a musical. They play Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michal Key, with a release date set for July 16.
One more week we have to talk about nominations, because Apple has achieved nothing less than 25 Daytime Emmy Award submissions. The series that received the most nominations was “Ghostwriter” with nine, “Stillwater” and “Helpsters” receiving four other nominations each. The awards ceremony will take place on July 17 and 18, dates on which we will know if Apple finally gets a prize. You can read the full list of nominations in Apple’s press release.
And finally, we have news of another adaptation: Apple announced that will transform the novel “City on Fire” into a series. Written by Garth Risk Hallberg, the book chronicles a criminal investigation in New York City that reveals a web of mysteries that no one would have imagined.
Don’t forget that today we also have new chapters of ‘Physical’, ‘Central Park’, ‘Home Before Dark’ and ‘Lisey’s Story’. What not to be bored all weekend!
