Motorola had promised that it would be one of the first brands to integrate the new Snapdragon 8 gen 1 on a mobile phone, and it is ultimately the one that leads the way: the Motorola Moto Edge X30 is now official. It is common for each manufacturer to reveal a range premium next to a slightly more content model. It’s usually called “Lite”, which Motorola prefers not to do this time: the new Moto Edge S30 is nothing small. Large size, good build, sleek design and lots of power. Powerful, stylish design and great hardware
Although its older brother, the Moto X30, owns the aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Motorola Moto Edge S30 is not too far away: said phone mounts the Snapdragon 888+, the best of 2021 if we remove the Qualcomm SoC. recently presented. And with LPDDR5 RAM (up to 12 GB) and UFS 3.1 storage (up to 256 GB). Almost nothing.
The screen chosen by Motorola offers a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with an FHD + resolution that reaches the 144Hz refresh rate. It offers HDR10, lacks an under-display fingerprint reader (the Motorola Moto Edge S30 mounts a capacitive sensor on the side), and includes a top hole for the 16-megapixel front camera.
Continuing with the cameras, Motorola equips a triple rectangular rear sensor with the three lenses positioned in line, one below the other. The main sensor chosen is one of the 108 megapixels; Next comes a 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle, and the rear photographic cast is complemented by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, the Motorola Moto Edge S30 equips the aforementioned 16-megapixel camera.
The battery is not far in terms of capacity: 5,000 mAh with 33W fast charge. The mobile comes with Android 11 as standard, offers the usual Motorola applications, does not have NFC (at least in the Chinese version, the one that was officially presented), it lacks SD card expansion and does not have a headphone jack either. The body of the Motorola Moto Edge S30 is made of plastic.

The mobile was presented in China and, as usual, will remain there for the time being. It wouldn’t be strange for Motorola to expand it internationally as the Edge X30 Lite, we will be attentive to the game. And in terms of price, they are as they are in their country of origin:
