Barely a year ago, we knew about the Motorola Moto X30, a device that was launched worldwide as the Motorola Edge 30. It was a phone that, without much fanfare, earned a good place in the midrange. Now we know the Moto X40 as top of the range in its own right and that it will probably end up being the Motorola Edge 40 in the West.
A telephone equipped with the best of Qualcomm inside as a highlight. Although the truth is that this is not the only thing worth noting, since it also comes with a maximum refresh rate and a selfie camera that indicates means.

Motorola does not reserve anything on the screen
First of all, it should be noted that, unlike its predecessor, this Moto X40 does not stand out as much in weight with its 199 grams (the X30/Edge 30 weighed 155 grams). However, it offers a premium design with curved corners due to the mounting panel.
And it is that, at least on paper, its panel points upwards. 6.7-inch curved AMOLED and that it has FullHD+ resolution. And while in the previous generation 144 Hz was already outside the industry standard of 120 Hz, in this one the stake has increased to 165Hz.
With the best of Qualcomm inside and very successful cameras
If we talk about performance, a priori nothing should be missing from this terminal when transporting the Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipthe Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. which comes with versions of 8 and 12 GB of RAM type LPDDR5X and options of 128, 256 and 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage.
It’s not exactly low on battery with a 4600mAh capacity. And as for the charging power, and although it does not reach the barbarities that we already see today with models such as the Redmi Note 12 Explorer with 210 W, it offers a 125W fast charge. A charge which, make no mistake about it, is intended to be brutal.
As for the cameras, you have to stop to say that she has a 60 megapixel selfie camera. Logically that’s not all and it’s still in HD resolution, but that’s not a bad approach. Already at the back is a 50MP main with optical image stabilization accompanied by a lens 50 megapixel wide angle and one 12 megapixel depth sensor.
As for the software, it comes with Motorola’s own layer of customization which is very close to the experience of a pure Android. This time with a version based on Android 13.
