More and more cell phones come without a charger in the box and although at the moment what is always included is the charging/data transfer cable, I always need more cables for my mobile: because I have one on the nightstand, another connected to the computer, another that is always in the car and also another in the gadget drawer just in case.
As with chargers, you can buy cables almost anywhere, but there is one hard-to-find combination: cables with all three “bes”, i.e. good, pretty and inexpensive. Official cables are rarely my first choice because I consider them too expensive, but I also don’t buy the first thing that appears on Amazon or in the bazaar below. In fact, I found my perfect place to shop there and when I least expected it: buying home furniture at IKEA.
I Surprisingly Found the Best IKEA Electronics Deals
Between the fact that I’m obsessed with fast charging (which I use in an emergency with the official cable provided in the box) and that my Android phones aren’t particularly new: a OnePlus 9 and a Samsung Galaxy A71, the situation is that I don’t need models suitable for 150 W or 100 W loads. But I insist: I will not settle for just any cable. My premises for buying a good cable are that it has the length you want and which has a resistant design and proof of intensive use.
And I didn’t say long or short cable simply because I’m not always looking for the same thing: to recharge it while I’m on the sofa and the outlet is far away, a long cable suits me well, but for car, I prefer a short one. What is indisputable is the qualityand this is where many alternatives from little-known brands I can find online falter.
On Amazon I used to opt for those products sold and shipped by themselves and the truth is that beyond the fact that if you have a problem during the warranty you get a replacement or refund , I don’t think they have the best quality-price cables. But in general, if you start looking for cables, you will find that they are not really cheap even if they are not original. That’s when I returned to IKEA, a company that is also strong and reputable and has its own corresponding guarantee and favorable price for the cables.
But let’s get to the point: at the moment I have two cables from IKEA and I do not exclude that as soon as possible the fast charger that they have just launched will also arrive. The first is a very simple model from USB-C type to USB-A type, one meter long that I always carry in the car (it’s the socket that my Polo has) quite simple and aesthetic, I chose it in yellow to find it quickly. It cost me less than two dollars and in theory it lasts up to 25,000 times. For now it’s holding up like the first day.
But the real jewel in my cable crown is the LILLHULT, a 1.5 meter long cable with a ribbon for easy and easy wrapping and storage. a top-of-the-range design with rubber head and windproof textile cord. It has two USB-C sockets and I found it magnificent at less than six dollars for its quality, length and details. Note: Supports data transmission up to 480 Mbps and 3 amps current.
