Okay, technically you can watch videos on Android Auto, but the main video and streaming apps are not compatible, I’m talking about YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Max… the trick would be to be able to take advantage of this screen in the front of your car to watch everything you want, from your favorite series to your team’s championship game, without too many special complications (because yes, watching Netflix on Android Auto is possible but it’s a headache). However, I found a good balance between ease of installation and good experience with the utility: This is how I see TNT and YouTube channels on my Android Auto screen.

To watch YouTube on Android Auto, simpler, more functional and without having to root or anything strange consists of updating the system and using the open source application Android Auto Apps Downloader. To have it on your mobile, simply go to GitHub and download the APK after accepting the corresponding permissions. AAAD allows you to launch other applications adapted to Google’s infotainment system but not certified for Android Auto.
Among the AAAD applications available, the interesting one to watch YouTube on Android Auto is CarStream. You just have to select a version from the list and the installation begins without any other mystery than granting permissions. In general, it always works well and is safe, but you may have a problem with the software and it does not work as it should (in this case, try installing another version. As for himself It is not possible to watch TV on Android Auto, it remains again to use an alternative application platform, in this case AAStore. The procedure is similar to the previous one: we go to its GitHub repository and download the latest stable version, in APK format, after accepting the installation permissions from unknown sources.
When AAStore is installed on your mobile, you will see a list of available applications: the one that interests us this time is IPcarTV. We enter, tap on ‘Install’ and after accepting the permissions, we now have the application that allows you to read IPTV lists on Android Autowhich is the true origin of these chains.
There is a long list of IPTV lists you can add (forgive the redundancy), but I particularly like the one from TDT Channels or the very complete IPTV organization, available on GitHub. You just need its link to copy and paste it into IPCarTV.
Within IPCarTV, we will ‘Playlist and favorite channel manager‘, and inside the ‘+’ we give it a name and paste the link. Then press ‘Following‘ and that’s it: the next time you open IPCarTV on Android Auto, you will have the channels to watch on the car screen. This app works well, it is fluid and the audiovisual experience is perfect (even if it does not play the content in full screen, leaving a bottom bar).
