Mobile phones today have incredible cameras, very powerful processors and many support very fast loading speeds. This is the case for Xiaomi, whose phones have some of the fastest charges on the market, but in addition to fast charging, many of us want a battery that lasts longer.
Fortunately, we can achieve greater autonomy on our mobile by identifying the components and applications that consume the most battery on a daily basis. One of these components is the screen, which This can consume more battery than we sometimes imagine. But after making a few quick settings changes, my Xiaomi’s battery life improved noticeably. Below we explain what they are and why they work.
You can change these two settings on the screen of your Xiaomi to have more battery
As we mentioned, the screen of our mobile can consume excess battery, especially if we use some of its functions. This does not mean that we should not take full advantage of the possibilities and functionalities of our devices, but it is advisable to do so with caution, especially if we know that we will be away from a charger for a long time.
The mode Always visible, or the always-on screen, is one of the functions that consumes the most battery on our devices. In fact, as our colleagues from Mundo Xiaomi have already explained, Always On mode can represent up to 15% of total battery consumption, according to an analysis by Xiaomi itself.
For this reason, you may consider disabling it. Additionally, it is also advisable to disable notification effects, or at least use an effect that does not completely turn on the screen.
To make these changes in Always On mode, we follow these steps:
- Let’s go to the mobile settings menu
- We access the section Always-on screen and lock screen
- Next we deactivate the always-on display
- Finally, we modify the configuration in the animation effect. We can choose one of the colored pulses, or better yet turn them off completely for more battery savings
In addition to the always on screen or Always On Display, another factor that consumes more battery related to the screen is the brightness level
This is why it is most recommended let the mobile adjust the brightness level itselfbased on ambient light to always offer the brightness the user needs in each situation, without exceeding it.
To configure auto brightness on Xiaomi phones, follow these steps:
- Let’s go to the mobile settings menu
- We access the section Screen
- We select the option Brightness level
- Then, we activate the box Auto Brightness
In case we need more brightness than the level that the mobile will configure itself, or maybe we want to reduce it even more, we can adjust it manually from the quick settings panel.
With these adjustments, we can see lower battery consumption on our Xiaomi phones with MIUI and HyperOS. And of course, at Xataka Android we have even more recommendations to extend battery life and also to take care of your health.
