AirPods 4

iOS 18.1 is now available for all of us and one of the new features is the activation of health functions aimed at hearing protection in AirPods Pro 2. With these functions, Apple aims to improve hearing health and help users who want to use AirPods Pro 2 as headphones, among other functions. Apple also benefited and updated the AirPods 4 firmware to your new version 7B19 for both models: both for the standard model and for the active noise cancellation model. However, we still don’t know what new features are included in this new firmware.

7B19, the new firmware for the two AirPods 4 models

Lately, Apple has been updating more periodically the firmware of all its headphones, from the standard AirPods to the AirPods Max and AirPods Pro, the latter in their second generation and especially with iOS 18.1 since it includes, as we mentioned, the new health functions.

On this occasion, Apple published the new 7B19 firmware for AirPods 4 for its standard version and its version with active noise cancellation, both presented on September 9 during the presentation of the iPhone 16. This update is coming a month after the previous update in which version 7A304 was released. Recall that version 7A302 of AirPods Pro 2 was also released on the same day.

For now The news of this new version has not been revealed but normally these are usually minor improvements and not interesting new functions, because in this case Apple would have put more emphasis on the update via a press release or other type of action. Also remember that we can’t force update our AirPods Instead, we have to wait for the update to download and install when the iPhone and AirPods are connected and not in use.
