As part of the Samsung ecosystem, the Korean manufacturer integrates its own voice assistant into Android phones. Bixby continues to evolve after receive news like quick phrases without voice commands or powerful routines.
Now, as Samsung announced, Bixby gains new features to expand the possibilities it offers. Owners of a terminal from the Asian brand, such as the recent Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra, will be able to take advantage of these improvements that are being rolled out.
Samsung is reinventing Bixby with these new features
For starters, new Bixby updates bring some cool features to personalize our experience. For the moment, and only in English, users will be able to answer calls using textthat the assistant will convert into audio and send to the person calling us.
On the other hand, Samsung highlights the voice customization of Bixby Text Call. Custom Voice Creator is the name given to this feature that takes some samples of our voice to replicate it, AI will be able to simulate both voice and pitch. It’s something similar to what we saw on Skype a few weeks ago, so again, Spanish-speaking users will have to be patient. This feature is reserved for the company’s home country, i.e. it is only available in Korean.
Another small feature is the wake word, which can be customized in the settings of this voice assistant. But without a doubt, Bixby’s biggest change comes from changing its role. It will go from an intelligent assistant to an intelligent platform, according to Samsung.
Deputy better understand the demands as long as they are framed in a context. For example, if we are in the middle of a training session, we can ask it to play some training music. Bixby will understand and may play appropriate topics for this moment.
Last but not least, voice recognition has been improved and now it will work too offline, without needing to be connected to the Internet. The Korean company has integrated AI into its devices with the native applications that are installed by default on these computers.
If you want to test the update on your Samsung Galaxy, you will need to wait for an update of softwarewhich will probably arrive before the end of the month. Samsung’s voice assistant wants to go head-to-head with Google Assistant, and it doesn’t seem to be giving up the competition.
