The legendary Japanese brand of electronic watches is launching the Wear OS operating system in its range of heavy devices: The Casio G-Squad Pro is on the way for wrists that need a rugged, all-terrain watch.
Smartwatches or smartwatches have blown electronic brands into the wrist device segment, also the reverse: most mainstream manufacturers, even luxury brands like Montblanc, already have a smartwatch in their catalog. And the Casio G-Squad Pro is the first bet of the G-Shock line for the Wear OS operating system: the proposal combines an aggressive design and sporty specifications.

The first G-Shock with Wear OS delivers on design and durability
There is no doubt looking at the photos of this new smartwatch: Casio has become a loyal heir to the G-Shock range, the section of its catalog devoted to endurance and sport. Bold exterior design, style rugerizado, combination of materials, aluminum for the buttons and titanium for the base of the watch.
While toughness is out of the question, the base material doesn’t show as much security anymore. We don’t know the SoC used in the Casio G-Squad Pro, we know its screen. Or their screens, in the plural: this new G-Shock offers a dual screen, something similar to other watches, like the TicWatch Pro 3. Of course, the Casio G-Squad Pro maintains a Pantalla TFT LCD one color, an inefficient technology (and which casts doubt on the exterior brightness).
About the main screen the Casio G-Squad Pro superimposes a second monochrome LCD layer, perfect for not consuming energy and which is visible when the primer is deactivated.
Sports registration is one of the strengths of the new proposal: the counting of activity and outdoor practices is covered. Also that of indoor training: Casio says its G-Shock Squad Pro includes 24 indoor activity logs. In addition, and thanks to its application, you can overprint the data recorded by the clock in the recordings made with the synchronized mobile; like speed and exercise time.
The battery does not seem to be the strong point either: average use is a day and a half with a charge, still according to Casio. Yes, it can be extended up to a month with the energy saving mode; which essentially turns the Casio G-Squad Pro into a “ normal ” watch.
