Android’s great advantage over other systems has always been its ability to evolve, and this is truer than ever. With Android 13, Google can roll out new features simply by updating its apps and services, rather than rolling out a new version of the system. This is something we have already seen with the new Reading Mode app, which adds a very useful function.

It is thanks to this type of updates that only in this month of December we are going to enjoy more improvements than those to which we are probably accustomed; and they will all arrive as an update to our apps.
December Android News
For starters, Google TV. The platform for smart TVs is gaining ground, so now is the right time to renew its official app, which includes a new command button.
But perhaps the most striking novelty of Google TV is that which allows us to send the video of various streaming services from the mobile directly to the television, with a simple touch. It is not yet clear if all the services are compatible, but if they are, it may be ideal to choose what you want to see directly from the mobile without using the TV menus.
Speaking of videos, YouTube now has a new widget on Android 13. Obviously it follows the design lines of Material You, changing color like the rest of the system, but it also gives us access to the most important parts of the application, such as search, our subscriptions or the Shorts videos.
The advantage of digital keys on your mobile
If we are one of the lucky few to have the digital car key on our mobile thanks to Google Wallet (only some BMWs are compatible for now), the new function will be of great help to us. will allow us share the digital key with other users
Precisely friends and family are surely the protagonists of many of our photos, and with the novelty of Google Photos we will be able create collage with new styles imagined by artists; We only have to select the photos that we have in the application library.
And when it comes to chatting with those contacts on mobile with the Messages app, we can now respond to specific messages in a conversation, instead of always having to answer last. These answers can now use the new “emoji kitchen”, which allows us to create custom emojis from the emojis we have already installed. Finally, Google will now show us new security alerts, with an icon on our profile picture that will tell us if there is a problem.
Wear OS 3 continues to evolve
Google also reiterated its renewed commitment to Wear OS, the system for smartwatches, with the launch of three new features. One refers to the new Google Keep application, which will allow us to add notes in a simple way, with photos, co-authors and different colors to differentiate them, all directly from the watch and without having to use the cellphone.
Wear OS 3 watches will also receive a major change with the arrival of new “tiles” or cards that add information and access to watch functions. For example, we will now have a map with our favorite contacts, to start a call with a touch, as well as a Google Maps map that starts navigation to a favorite point, like our house. Finally, Google Assistant gains compatibility with the Adidas application, which allows us to start an exercise only with our voice.
