Apple does not abandon the idea of a premium speaker in its catalog and the new HomePod with a better processor and better sound would be ready to be sold in 2023.

The new HomePod, internally dubbed the B620, will have the same S8 processor as the upcoming Apple Watch s8 series, and will be more like the original HomePod in size and sound quality than the HomePod mini. It will also have a new screen at the top which might even have multi-touch functionality.
Just because it’s closer to the original HomePod than the HomePod mini in sound quality doesn’t mean it has the same sound quality as the original HomePod. The new S8 processor, much more powerful than the A8 of the original HomePod, can give it a good jump in quality on the speaker sound. Apple has allowed a small speaker like the HomePod mini to push the boundaries of its hardware in terms of sound quality thanks to the built-in S6 processor, so why not do the same with the new HomePod? Will there be different colors available? Will it be the same price as the original? We will have to wait until 2023 to see it.
