Huawei has stepped up to the plate and revealed not one, but four new phones for its highest range. These are the new Huawei Pura 70. Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Pro+, in addition to the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, its new star flagship. Pure, yes, because the company has decided to rename its most premium family of mobile phones, leaving behind the “P” and now calling them “Pura”.
Even if all mobile phones in this new family have a high-end equipment, the Pura 70 Ultra has some very interesting features that not only stand out from the rest of this family of Huawei phones, but also promises to be a very tough rival in the higher end in terms of photography. Let’s see all its technical characteristics.

Lots of power, yes, but the camera is the crown jewel of the Pura 70 Ultra
Starting with the screen, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has a more than generous 6.8-inch panel, with FullHD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate between 1 and 120 Hz for greater efficiency. With 226 grams It’s not a lightweight phone, but it’s not excessively heavy either.and a good explanation behind this weight: its cameras, which we will talk about later.
In terms of hardware, the Pura 70 Ultra has a Kirin 9010 chipaccompanied by 16 GB of RAM and more than generous storage, 512 GB or 1 TB. Its operating system is of course HarmonyOS (version 4.2), developed in-house.
But let’s talk about the icing on the cake, the camera system of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. Huawei’s new flagship features a 1-inch 50 MP main sensor, with a variable aperture between f/1.6 and f/4.0, and optical stabilization (OIS) on the sensor. It also has a 40 MP wide-angle sensor and an f/2.2 aperture.
However, what is most striking about the Pura 70 Ultra cameras is their retractable type periscopic telephoto camera, which thanks to an internal gear system can enter and exit the body of the mobile. According to Huawei, this camera can withstand more than 300,000 contractions. The company hasn’t announced what benefits it offers with the retractable telephoto lens, but it’s undoubtedly a feature that’s as striking as it is interesting.
For the rest, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has a 5,200 mAh battery, with support for 100 W wired fast charging, and 80W fast wireless charging, making it one of the fastest wireless charging phones on the market today. The mobile is IP68 certified, which makes it dust resistant and can also survive immersion in water without any problems.
