By 2020, Macac will be celebrating 22 years. Over the years, Apple's computer has had several projects to access current aluminum, which has already expired.
Apple introduced the design in 2007 and has since undergone minor changes, such as a single body change in 2009, a magnificent 2012 design or the launch of the Retina show in 2014.
In our opinion, the current design of the iMac has some drawbacks: it's not ergonomic, the bezels aren't too thick and the design has been the same for a very long time. That could change by 2020 with the advent of the new iMac.
Release time: when will the new Mac 2020 be opened?
It is possible that the design of the iMac will never change or until it eventually disappears with the growing performance of laptops. For now, we think this will not be the case, especially after the introduction of the Mac Pro with the monitor in 2019.
In addition, it wasn't too long since it started marketing the Mac Pro, certainly knowing that iMacs are the most attractive computer for creative professionals. This is why we are predicting the future.
What we also believe is that the changes in the design of Apple computers will come first in the iMac Pro rather than in the iMac and that Apple's monitor will provide more clues with this new feature.
Design: What will the new Mac 2020 look like?
As we mentioned earlier, the architecture of the iMac hasn't changed much in the past decade. In fact, no other Apple product has lasted that long with the same design. That's why it shows that by 2020 the Mac will have a new look.
Small bezels and a larger screen
Possibly, the new iMac has smaller bezels instead of a larger screen. This is possible with the latest technology, which allows it to reduce frames while providing maximum space on the panels.
Currently, the iMac is available on 21.5-inch or 27-inch screens. If the bezels were reduced, we would certainly have a smaller 24-inch Macac and a larger two-inch Macac. And all of this without a device is so great.
Plus, having an iMac with a larger screen will bring us closer and more likely to have a Mac 6K sooner than later. One of the rumors they are racing is the launch of a 6-inch 31-inch screen near this the new Mac Pro.
Color range wide
The iMac Pro is only available in gray space, a color that Apple seems to have only for its computer the premium. What are the chances that the new Macac will also be built in a gray area?
The original iMac became famous for its fruit color, but in recent years Apple has opted to sell it first only in white and then only in silver. Instead, MacBooks are now available in gray, silver and gold space.
Better ergonomics
What can Apple do to make the Mac more ergonomic? Those of Copertino can bet on a lamp-like design similar to the one shown in the picture where it can be turned into a foot with fixed hinges.
If the new Mac had a longer foot, then that would probably mean more flexibility to turn the Mac into a more comfortable fit. It can result in a specific and unattractive design, though you have to rely on the talent of Jony Ive.
Very small chin
Returning to the screen, the iMac panel is secured not only by the bezels, but also the bottom chin. It stores all the computer equipment, making it understandable to be about 6 cm in size.
However, we think it is possible to transfer some of the elements to another part, which will allow for reduced chin size and, consequently, more screen space.
Details: what features will the new iMac 2020 have?
Screen highlighting
Another big change that Macac 2020 can bring may be the larger screen, which will also mean more pixels. Currently, the 27 ”Mac has a 5K 520 x 2880 Retina display, and the 21.5” Mac has a 4096 x 2304 4K Retina.
The larger screen on the iMac can eventually result in a screen with enough pixels to be up to 6K. It can be an HDR panel, which can allow you to watch Apple TV + content in high quality.
Something else that says nothing about the screen is possible ultrawide It looks 21: 9. This kind of panels have become fashionable over the last two years, although we think we'll see it in front of what Apple is preparing.
FaceTime Camera and Face ID technology
While Apple is launching the MacBook Air in 2018, it has added support for the Touch technology, a feature we also have on the MacBook Pro. The fact is that ID ID is very useful for laptops.
However, this function is not easily transferable to the iMac. We see the possibility that Apple desktops are finally using the new face ID technology webcam via TrueDepth.
On the other hand, we expect Apple to upgrade the iMac's FaceTime camera. The iMac Pro has a very high resolution 1080p video camera, while the model is smaller the premium recording only at 720p.
Improved Specification
Needless to say, the new iMac will deliver better specifications. We hope that Apple decides to bet on a more powerful processor, better graphics cards and other similar changes that can make it a high-end computer.
In fact, this is what Apple has been doing for years. With the 2017 Mac Pro, Apple had to make some internal changes to be able to introduce a new cooling system. Maybe it's time to see it again on the standard iMac.
Storage
In our opinion, it's time for the iMac to go to memory light. It is true that selling iMacs with hard drives means that more power can be obtained at a lower cost, but it doesn't help if you end up with a slow computer.
If you really want that extra storage, your best bet would be to buy an iMac with Fusion Drive. This includes a larger drive and a smaller SSD, which means you can gain more speed and have more space.
But the fact is that you probably don't need a lot of storage, especially if you last saved everything to your iCloud account or used an external SSD drive to save your photos, music and videos.
Processors
The 21.5 ”iMacs for 2019 have six Intel eight-generation processors, while the 27” models include the eighth and ninth-generation processors with eight cores.
These processors are all part of the Intel Coffee Lake range. Possibly, the 2020 iMacs feature chips from Intel's new series such as Cannon Lake or Ice Lake, though another option might be Comet Lake.
There are also rumors that Apple could use the company-produced processors starting in 2020 after repeated confusion with its relationship with Intel. In fact, those Cupertines are already using their own chips on the iMacs Pro and mini and on the MacBook Air and Pro.
Pictures card
Hopefully Apple will upgrade the graphics cards it uses on its iMacs. We are curious to see if the Campertino are still using discrete cards. Currently, the GPUs used are Radeon Pro and Radeon Pro Vega.
Discrete disc cards are not always used on iMacs. In fact, in 2015 all 21-inch Macs, including most the premium 4K, they used the Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200, but luckily Apple decided to switch to Radeon Pro in 2017.
RAM memory
The 2019 iMac models have shown improvements in the RAm memory area, from 2400 MHz to 2666 MHz on all 27-inch iMacs and the most expensive at 21 inches. This has improved its performance and speed.
In addition, the new mid-range and high-end 27 ”Macs offer 64 GB of RAM. Although the Mac Pro can be purchased with 128 GB of RAM, we don't think this will be an option for the 2020 iMacs.
What we would like to see soon is that it is possible to change the RAM of the 21.5-inch iMac models easily. It's easy to do on 27-inch iMacs from the back of the screen, but some don't have that option.
Ports
And in the background, we hope Apple decides to keep the USB A ports we get today, as well as two Thunderbolt 3 / USB C ports and an Ethernet port. We are not sure that you will save the SD card slot.
