Chrome has reached version 100 in the beta to bring a series of new features that once again make it one of the most important browsers we have. And now even on Android, with the google chrome version 99, it improves page loading speed. Not only does it stay here, it moved Safari on macOS into its own browser benchmarking tool.
Chrome is now faster than ever
Via Android Police, what interests us in these parts is how quickly Google Chrome has taken so that now load web pages 15% faster and the application launches even faster to increase by 13%.
The first speed improvement is due to the fact that it now re-prioritizes browsing in the interface dedicated thread, while the second is due to last year’s update. centered on tabs with calls like ‘Freeze Dried Tabs’; which keep being a simple capture of the tabs in order to generate them on the screen while they are loaded in the background.
As for Chrome now being the fastest browser on macOS when switching to Safari, it’s because the big G allowed ThinLTO to gain a number of small benefits from compiler optimizations. This saw it gain 7% on Safari and 15% in graphics performance with other improvements in place.
Best of all, these measurements were done with Apple’s own benchmarking tool, Speedometer, so there’s no way to mislead and point out that the work done by the guys at Mountain generated real speed improvements of the browser. The same thing that happened in Android so that we load these web pages before so that we can enjoy new experiences that are not limited by the browser’s own performance.
