Apple today updated several of its professional audio and video editing apps with new features. They are iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Motion and Compressor, which even get new features in iMovie for iOS and iPadOS.
Better finding and resolving rendering errors
The new version of iMovie (10.2.4) includes new backgrounds to add to our home videos (there are 16 with solid colors or with textures), and the possibility of being able to import projects created with iMovie for iOS 2.3. Its big brother Final Cut Pro is updated to version 10.5.3 with improvements in the personalization of the content browser as well as in its search section, and we can finally locate files by filtering the search by their format.
Movement version 5.2.2 fixes rendering bugs for three-dimensional objects on M1 chip Macs, which made the brightness of these objects look bad in HDR color profiles. Now the application will not shut down during certain operations such as adjusting the opacity of an object.
Finally, Compressor reaches version 4.5.3 adding notifications when it has finished encoding files and integrating. audio descriptions in MOV, MP4, M4V and MXF files. All apps also apply stability improvements.
Final Cut Pro can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for a one-time payment of 329.99 dollars and is considered the must-have video editor for all professionals who use a Mac. In the same store we can find Compressor for 54.99 dollars, Motion for 54.99 dollars and iMovie completely free. Remember that you need to have macOS Catalina or later installed in order to use all of these apps.
