It’s already possible to buy the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in Europe, ahead of its launch on October 13. A long-awaited release, which comes with its good and bad sides.

On the one hand, everything indicates that this time Google has enough units for everyone. Unlike what happened with the Pixel 6, the production of the new mobiles has been accelerated to meet demand, and at the moment there are no delays in delivery expected in Europe.
What we miss from Google in Europe
But, on the other hand, it’s hard to be excited about yesterday’s Google presentation when Europe did so poorly. To begin with, of the three products presented yesterday, only one will arrive in Europe, the new Pixel 7 range; the Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet aren’t coming, although for different reasons.
In the case of the tablet, there is an explanation. Quite simply, the Pixel tablet won’t arrive until 2023, which raises questions as to why Google felt the need to spend so much time on it; but that’s a different topic for another time.
More incomprehensible is the case of the Pixel Watch. The first Google Watch will not arrive in Europe, as it will in other neighboring countries. In fact, Google has not even been able to confirm that the watch will be launched in our country in the future, so it is perfectly possible that it will never arrive.
We originally thought it was because the Pixel Watch has advanced health features like electrocardiograms (EKG). These medical related functions must be pre-approved in the European market, in order to receive the appropriate CE certification; it’s something all manufacturers have to go through, and many decide not to release the device until they get it.
A recent example is Huawei, which delayed the launch of the Huawei Watch D until it could enable electrocardiograms and blood pressure measurement, its two most prominent features. This is logical, because it avoids launching an incomplete and less attractive watch.
But the case of the Pixel Watch is not that. Google will launch the Pixel Watch in other European countries, such as Germany, France and Ireland, and has therefore already gone through the bureaucracy necessary to offer the device in Europe. Nothing prevents it
No freebies for Spaniards
To make matters worse, the only new Google products in Europe will also arrive “capados” in a certain sense. And it is that in some countries Google offers different freebies for buying a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Progifts that we will not receive in Europe.
Specifically, in the UK, France, and Germany, Pixel 7 buyers will get free Pixel Buds, while Pixel 7 Pro buyers will get a free Pixel Watch with 4G connectivity.
In effect. The Pixel Watch that Google does not sell in Europe is in progress given in other countries, just for the purchase of a mobile. And in Europe, you get absolutely nothing: in order not to come, there is no charger in the box, which you will have to buy separately if you don’t have it.
It’s as if Google went to hurt Europe, although obviously it didn’t. Only at Google do they know the real reason. Maybe it’s because they don’t expect good sales in our country and decided to go with the bare minimum; or maybe it’s the opposite, that they expect good sales and that there is no need for more “incentives” for Spanish buyers.
Either way, these are elections that leave a bad taste in your mouth.
