Additionally, Pei claims that choosing the Snapdragon 8 over a Snapdragon 7 allows battery level improvements, connectivity and, in addition to the obvious power, improvements in photo processing thanks to an ISP (Image Signal Processor) capable of processing 4,000 times more data than the Phone’s ISP (1).
In addition to the confirmed data, a few days ago filtered sequel to Nothing Phone (2) in Geekbench, one of the most widely used benchmarks for seeing the raw power of processors. In this one you can see that the mobile has 12 GB of RAM, but an 8GB version is expected which may come out at a more affordable price. This way the gap between phone (1) and phone (2) will not be so big.
Other leaks point to a huge 5,000mAh battery with wireless charging and AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Certainly the customization layer will be very clean and light, as it was already the case with the previous generation, and nothing gives much importance to the user experience, which must be as fluid as possible.
The choice of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 also rows in this direction, since as Pei has confirmed, it is a SoC with a history in the market and a presence in the mobile phones of several companies, which is why the reported bugs have been fixed according to the updates. This plays in favor of this search for the best user experience that the company tries to offer.
What will the cameras of the Nothing Phone (2) look like?
It is clear that the photographic experience is extremely important, especially in a high-end mobile like the Nothing Phone (2), so we expect an improvement over what was seen in the Phone (1). The previous generation has a dual camera with 50 megapixel sensors.
The main camera has optical stabilization, the Sony IMX766 sensor and an f/1.9 aperture. It’s good hardware whose processing software has been tweaked over the months and, while we don’t have any info on what cameras the Nothing Phone (2) will have, there are some advantages of choosing the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
For example, processing will be faster thanks to the ISP improvement we mentioned earlier, but there will be something more tangible, like the 4K recording at 60 frames per second or possibility to shoot in RAW format. These specs have also been confirmed by Pei and we want to see more specs, such as confirmation of the sensors and whether it will have a telephoto lens. There are rumors that point to a triple camera and being a top of the range, we do not expect a macro sensor.
When will the Nothing Phone (2) be released and how much will it cost?
On this subject, we have no information. We know that the Nothing Phone (2) will be presented this summerThis is something that the company has confirmed and that “sticks” with the presentation of the previous model.
Regarding the price, here we expect a considerable increase if we take into account that the first came to the market with a mid-range SoC like the Snapdragon 778G+ and here we expect a top-of-the-range system range.
