Today marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of the original iPad. And it's been a month since I've been using the iPad Pro with the iPadOS 13, specifically, the 13-inch model, Wi-Fi and 64GB (1,099 euros for K-tuin, provided by APR). The iPad is compatible with Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil, as well as Smart Folio.
My intention with this Pro has always been analyze its impact on my daily work. See how to integrate it into my day to day. The weight when a job requires changing your work flow or a complete re-look. Here I tell you my experience.
For iPadOS, size matters
I must say that I do not start from scratch on this trip. I have a 10.5-inch iPad Pro for just two years, so IPOS 13 is not something I am totally ignorant about. Of course I wanted to try this approach to the great pioneer and try more space for apps. I was not disappointed.
Without a doubt, the iPadOS is made to work and enjoy with a large screen such as 12.9 inches. Split screen So far, the work I use most on the iPad and the one that is the biggest difference is my workflow. This feature allows more space to be available than the 10 or 11-inch models. This obviously doesn't go away until you realize the amount of combinations of pairs of apps you can save at once.
Size adds opportunity. Hating Freedom To do what you want, be it working, reading, browsing, watching a series or playing. On the other side of the display, we run out of comfort due to the increase in weight and size. But not as much as one would think, because in some things you can turn to remove the charge and hold it with both hands.
Status of apps
Having an iPad has many apps at your disposal. Apps designed for the tool, to showcase its possibilities. I, I don't want too much increasingly powerful. I don't edit a 4K video or program. And I don't play the most powerful or logical games yet.
In my day-to-day, I use apps like iA Author, from there writing this and many other Applesfera stuff (have you noticed the difference?). Do you formatted app for formatting sign Superb, for version of iOS, iPadOS and macOS. One of the few apps worth their own, but I happily paid for it.
I've never encountered an app that doesn't support functions like Split Screen either many windows. Although, as I said, I use Apple apps a lot, which are widely used and take advantage of recent years' news. In this sense, I was surprised by a specific app: Keynote.
For the past few weeks I have been working on a presentation with a remote team, where everyone has been working. We use Keynote on iCloud, so changes are made in real time. I've been working a lot of time since the iMac because I thought I couldn't make it to the Apple Pro and its size was, by comparison, "reduced" in size. However, in the last part I tested and was surprised.
There is a learning, trusting and trying role in the tasks we are most familiar with on the Mac
Now I think I could have done it from the iPad Pro with no problem. I didn't do it for you mistrust and ignorance, something that can only be done when you build a custom. An opportunity that will not be repeated some days before the return of the equipment.
When I wanted to jump in the pool there was Skype. Last week I participated a while in episode 5×65 the Applelianos podcast, which was about home automation. I wasn't sure if the app would work properly, because in this type of recording there are often problems with it. In the end it was easy, I opened the app, put in my credentials and got a videoconference from the link. Everything went better than I expected.
Other observations on iPad Pro and iPadOS
Shortcuts take time on apple devices. Before I started this test I had set occasional shortcuts
However, until now I could not find a shortcut that was a great resource. This is where play begins the simplest I have created To change format to article photos, from PNG to JPG:
To complete an article for @applesfera on the iPad, when I uploaded the pictures I realized I had to convert the format from PNG to JPG.
I wanted the shortcut unsuccessful and I finally launched it myself. Here's what you have: https://t.co/F9b8Y6yZ39

I remember the work and the picture being balanced integrated into the system, whether through an app, activity or a dedicated app like Preview. However, for now, Shortcuts provides this and other errors.
As for the covers, I wanted to give a few words to these excellent Apple ingredients. For this assignment, I was testing the Smart and Smart Folio keyboard. First of all, it is a small addition that did not include Pedro Aznar in his original commentary.
Playing on an iPad with these features is great, but to do it longer is better to remove the case or keyboard
Through him folio, an appropriate supplement for you want to spend more time without a keyboard on the iPad, or who wouldn't use it at all. The virtual keyboard now has QuickPath for faster typing, if it is your own on-screen keyboard. Many years ago, I used an iPad 2 whose case it was to write notes to the king.
I won't use this method to write articles like Applesfera either write a report
Finally, I wanted to give a few words to something that is very important to those who work for themselves: debts. Again, I had my doubts. Lack of confidence that such a good thing has come out it is important In my professional life. I have to go back to the iMac again. The workflow with this work on the desktop is as follows:
- I open my invoice template, in Word.
- Converted dates, prices and invoice number.
- Export to PDF.
- Email me.
The flow is exactly the same on the iPad, with the addition that I always use a Screen Screen. Here I encountered the problem of Synchronization between Files and Dropbox, which doesn't allow you to move documents from one folder to another. I had to do it from Dropbox (some people have suggested I migrate everything to iCloud and forget about this service).
One month and 12.9-inch iPad Pro
This month with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro helped me see one thing: here are the best machines that Apple made years ago. Leaving aside AirPods, iPad It's been my favorite tool. When I hold it in my hands to move it, I know of its possibilities, splendor and amazing hardware.
In some cases, I am surprised to remove a case to approve a tool, something I did and iPhone 4 and iPhone 7 Plus jet black. Like any other product, this iPad is the result of years of operation.
A lot of the work lies in the iPadOS 13. With this latest version, Apple has released ballast binding the telephone. IPadOS has eliminated the phrase we defined (“a promising future tool”) to make it work. "Will" has given way ".
Of course, there are still things that should be improved. Deficiency smart mailboxes, that text editing doesn't jump By default or knowing which windows are running (and being able to do something about it) when we're in Split Screen mode there are three errors that I'm most interested in fixing. But it is nothing compared to everything we can do. Crossing your fingers for the next WWDC 2020.
