Email is not one of those technologies that has changed a lot in its decades of life, but we have seen changes in the way we use it. Mobile phones are currently one of the main access devices, which has multiplied messaging apps on Android. But there was one that wasn’t available, one that had been a benchmark for years: Thunderbird.
For the youngest, it should be noted that Thunderbird is an email client from Mozilla, the same company that designed the Firefox browser. This program has been with us for nearly 20 years, having been launched in 2003.
Mozilla Thunderbird is coming to Android
Almost two decades after its launch, it seems that this service will come to Android, at least according to the words of the officials. This program will arrive in the form of an application for mobile phones and tablets, although we do not yet have data on the features that will be available in the application.
We know this will be a priority for the company, which is getting some attention because so far there didn’t seem to be much interest in bringing this service to smartphones.
However, even if this happens, we will have to continue using our current email accounts since Thunderbird is not an email client that provides an email address, but rather a manager to be able to use our accounts, such as the Gmail application for Android or Microsoft Outlook, which are independent of creating accounts in Gmail, Hotmail or Outlook.
Thunderbird relaunch is near
This application will arrive as part of a relaunch of Thunderbird as a product, with a big change in functions and design, something it lacks and which, in fact, is the main priority of the development team.
