When Samsung launched its new generation of foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, these devices included a new version of its operating system, One UI, which includes some great new features, particularly in terms of artificial intelligence.
One UI 6.1.1 has arrived with these foldable phones, but other Samsung Galaxy devices are already receiving the update. The first to receive it were the three members of the Galaxy S24 family, now it’s the turn of the company’s previous generation of foldable devices, which will receive some exclusive features of mobile phones equipped with this type of technology.

One UI 6.1.1 includes new features exclusive to Samsung foldable phones.
The fifth generation of Samsung Galaxy foldable phones has started receiving the update to One UI 6.1.1, first in South Korea, the company’s home country, according to Android analyst Tarun Vats. This is an update that will be available graduallywhich means we can expect it to start arriving in Europe, Latin America, the United States and the rest of the world in the coming days.

This version of the Android-based operating system includes new artificial intelligence featureslike Portrait Studio, which allows you to apply an animated effect to a photo, to transform a selfie into a cartoon or 3D animation for example. It also adds new possibilities to the AI translator integrated into the system and allows us to bring our doodles to life, transforming them into detailed images.
Another very interesting novelty is that this version of One UI includes exclusive functions for foldables, such as the new Flex Mode Camcorderthat lets you use the Galaxy Z Flip5 (like the Galaxy Z Flip6) as a classic portable camcorder. It also includes other functions that let you take advantage of the foldable phones’ dual screens for quick replies and translations.
The Galaxy S23 family is expected to be the next to receive the One UI 6.1.1 update, following the Z Fold5 and Z Flip 5. This update is also expected to arrive soon.
As we mentioned at the beginning of these lines, the update has already started to reach Samsung’s fifth-generation foldables in Korea and will soon reach more territories. In addition, it is expected that Starting next week, the Galaxy S23 will receive the update to One UI 6.1.1First in Asia, this update is therefore also coming to the most powerful Samsung phones arriving in 2023.
