One of the most important novelties introduced with the Galaxy S24 family was the Galaxy AI, the Samsung AI Features. They were originally exclusive to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24, but the company has already started expanding its AI to more devices.
The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 received One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI in March, and It will now be the turn of the Galaxy S22 and Samsung foldables for 2022. The company has confirmed when the update will arrive and what artificial intelligence features it will include.
All Samsung Galaxy that will receive the update to One UI 6.1 in May
It’s now official, Samsung has announced that the most premium Samsung Galaxy devices they launched in 2022 will also receive artificial intelligence features, or at least they will receive most of them; the rest will continue to be exclusive to the Galaxy S24 due to their hardware capabilities.
This means that features like Circle to search, image editing with artificial intelligence and real-time call translation will reach the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22 as well as Samsung foldables of 2022, that is- i.e. the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip. 4.
Here are the devices that will receive the update:
These won’t be the last devices to receive Galaxy AI. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is also expected to receive artificial intelligence features just like the Galaxy S21 family, which was even mentioned on Samsung forums.
Updating to One UI 6.1 will start arriving in the first days of May to compatible devices.
Here are the artificial intelligence features that will be present on the Galaxy S22 and the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 foldable devices:
As we mentioned a few lines ago, not all of the Galaxy AI functions will be available for the Galaxy S22 and fourth generation foldables, but yes the majority. Here is the full list of AI features that will be available on these devices with the update to One UI 6.1:
- Circle to search
- AI-generated wallpapers
- Performer mode
- Real-time translation
- Generative image editing
- Editing Tips
- Navigation Assistant
- Chat Assistant
- Notes and transcription assistant
The great absence from the list is due to instant slow motion, which allows you to convert any video to slow motion just by tapping the screen. This feature requires more advanced and powerful hardware, for now only the Galaxy S24 has it, and of course they will also be part of the company’s future launches, such as the next generation of Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip .
