With the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro nearing launch, OnePlus continues to evolve into one of the most relevant purchases: O oxygen OS. The company's communications are one of the most appreciated by its community and the market at large, and they have recently updated it with new features, among which new multitasking is seen.
New shortcuts in the launcher
This new multitasking is not much different from the old one. 4.4.2 Launcher is launching in the Play Store. Keep in mind that OnePlus is reviewing some of its plans in this way for a while, allowing you to avoid introducing OTA with minor changes.
As you can see in the GIF, major changes are taking place at the lower level. This is where we have a series of embedded app icons that allow us to move from one to the other without searching through open tabs.
Also, the X-shaped icon to close applications disappears and is replaced by another text, too large.
Finally, we can see how in the new version there is no three dots mark next to each application in multitasking. This item is allowed to remove apps from this area, something that from now on will be done with touch, as with most modern programs. For other tasks, such as using a split screen, we have to press and hold on to each program, as we can see in the following image, from XDA developers.
Version 4.4.2 of the OnePlus launcher is already in stores but if you can't find it you can download the APK from APKMirror even though you know it only works on phones of this type.
