Traditionally, all new iPhones that Apple introduced during the month of September or October they have the same chip. Something that, according to the latest rumors, could change in the iPhone 14, since the A15 Bionic chip will continue to be present in some models.

More differentiation for the Pro ranges

The information comes from a tweet from the famous analyst Ming Chi Kuo. According to him, the A15 Bionic chip from the current iPhone 13 will continue to be present in the two entry models of the iPhone 14. Thus, Apple will reserve the best of the chips, which for now we will call A16, to Pro models.

That won’t be the only differentiation between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. According to the analyst, although all models will come with 6GB of RAMthat of the Pro models will be LPDDR 5, while that of the base models will be LPDDR 4X.

Let’s remember that this year we expect a change in the distribution of the four iPhones that we expect to see in September. Instead of having a mini version, the base iPhone and Pro will have a normal and Max variant. We will therefore see, still according to rumours, the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

For a few generations, the main difference between the base iPhone and the Pro models has been the cameras. Now, with this move, Apple wants differences plus their ranges. Although in RAM all models will have 6 GB, whereas now this amount is reserved only for Pro models, the use of different processors and the type of RAM will be a key factor.

It's the A15 Bionic of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro: pushing the limits of 5 nanometers

It is true that there are other rumors that point to somewhat different specs. We’ve heard some, for example, pointing to 8GB of RAM. So, as with any information of this kind, we must apply a little skepticism. We’ll see official information on a stage at Apple Park in a few months.
