Since Android is a free operating system, at least for the most part, developers in the community give us their two cents with Free applications (open source) that allow you to perform the most diverse tasks: replace Google Photos or the complete Google suite, have Spotify and YouTube in the same place, a highly customizable launcher and even an alternative store to the Play Store.
These applications are completely free, do not include advertising and as if that were not enough, they usually opt for the most recent development tools. Related customizationToday we bring you two very complete applications that allow us to change the wallpaper between infinity wallpapers.
Wallpapers for every day
The quantity of wallpapers available on the Internet is endless: there are applications that bring us these databases, although as a general rule, they include advertising to make their development profitable. On the other hand, the two applications that we present to you today are not for profit.
These are WallYou and WallFlow. With two very similar names, they also behave in the same way. What they do is access wallpaper galleries (and images in general) like Wallhaven, Unsplash and even Reddit. So, with a few touches on the screen, we can refresh home screen from our Android mobile.
While launchers allow us to change the icons and app drawer, there’s nothing like a new wallpaper to breathe new life into our phone. Both apps follow the Material You guidelines, making them very familiar to the user
As soon as we install and run it, we see two very similar interfaces: the bottom menu in WallFlow and the floating buttons to activate the filters in both it and WallYou. We want a dark background that matches the dark theme from Android? We can filter the results.
Furthermore, in the case of Wall flowyou can add subreddits and the app will collect all the funds shared by the community. This base contains fewer sources from which to get the wallpapersbut it’s not a problem after adding some websites.
On the other hand, WallYou makes everything easier out of the box
Both apps allow us to get wallpapers from different sources and apply filters to find what we are looking for.
In the filters it is possible to discriminate wallpapers according to themes, for example anime or people. Although without a doubt, the most important thing when it comes to using these backgrounds on your mobile is the screen ratio or aspect ratio. Because we mainly use the mobile vertically, it will be necessary to apply the “Portrait” filter.
Want to get the most out of both apps? For download and install themremember to enable the unknown sources option. The APKs are available both on GitHub and in the free alternative store F-Droid. We leave the links below:
