Apple announced iOS 16 at this year’s WorldWide Developers Conference. One of its standout features is the revolutionized lock screen, which now adds different forms of customization such as widgets, live activities, depth effect, etc.
Get the most out of iOS 16 with these backgrounds
There are some wallpapers that with this depth effect look great on iOS 16, and today we want to share a list that Reddit user shriksr compiled. There are 19 free desktop wallpapers obtained from sites like Unsplash and Pexels, two webpages known to offer images that don’t need attribution or a license to use. If you want to get one, just click on it and it will take you to the download page.
To activate the depth effect on your iPhone with iOS 16, simply select the image you want to add as wallpaper, click on the three dots at the bottom right and select Depth effect. Remember that this option is incompatible with widgetsso if you add them, the system will disable the depth option.
It is a fairly simple process, and the truth is that this list of wallpapers is very good. Personally, I just changed to the one you see in the screenshots above. Inherited from the Apple Watch, this way of presenting wallpapers generates a curious and striking effect. Anyone who wants a functional lock screen wallpaper will surely opt for widgets, but if you don’t see a big contribution to it and prefer something aesthetically pleasing, this effect is perfect.
