Photos taken in JPG or HEIF will take up less space, but they will still be larger than before, and this can particularly affect those who buy an iPhone 14 Pro 128GB and are used to taking photos frequently. This storage can be full in much less time

Knowing this, my recommendation is that you pay more attention to the storage management of the iPhone 14 Pro if you are planning to buy one of the models with less storage. Another solution is to buy one with more storage, but this year the price barrier makes things much more difficult.
