“I’m a Mac/I’m a PC” is further proof of Apple’s “inspirational” marketing!
Apple’s most famous ads are destined for a “renaissance.” Qualcomm has decided to ride the wave of Apple’s famous advertising campaign “I’m a Mac/I’m a PC”. With its own ad parodying the original, the semiconductor giant seeks to position its new Snapdragon PC as a viable alternative to traditional Apple alternatives.
Although fifteen years have passed since the original “I’m a Mac/I’m a PC” series videos premiered, and in the meantime Huawei and Intel have attempted to use the format to their advantage, Qualcomm decided it would be a good idea to hire “the Mac actor”, played by Justin Long
Qualcomm changes ‘Mac actor’ mind
The announcement was featured during Qualcomm’s two-hour keynote about their new PC chip.
As you can see in the video we share below, the ad features Long, as well as Mac user fed up with constant notifications and error messages, finds solution on PC with ARM technology powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip.
The video ends with Long shrugging his shoulders and asking the viewer “What? Things change.”

The strategy of using references to famous Apple advertisements to promote their own products and, at the same time, denigrate those of the bitten apple, is a common trend among competing companies, which has very rarely had the desired effect .
Yes OK This may seem bold, but it can also prove counterproductive if the promise is not kept.. If the brand fails to offer a product or service that meets the expectations created by the reference to Apple, consumers risk feeling disappointed and frustrated.
For several years now, Apple has set the bar high for its competitors. IQualcomm’s offering hit some key points that put it on par with the M series, but surpassing it is something that still remains to be seen.
