One of the first computers manufactured by the company was recently auctioned.
You never know which object can become a real collector’s item. We may even have a treasure hidden among whatever we put aside. Even though it may not seem like it to us, what we consider to be unimportant to others can be something of great value. And, time and time again, what matters is the story behind of this object.
In the case of Apple, we are talking about a company with 45 years of history which has succeeded in revolutionizing the consumer technology industry on several occasions. Thus, many of its old products have become collector’s items, embellished by the success story, even by the failure that they could have assumed at a given time.
On this occasion, we are talking about an object that was part of the first steps of the company. An Apple-1 that we have already talked about in the past and which, if it is already a model coveted by collectors, in this case it is even more so to have a wooden case. And is that, if some 200 Apple-1 were made, only 6 of them had this case.
El Apple-1 was sold for $ 500,000 at a John Moran auction, along with manuals, a monitor, and a few tapes with system software. A set of the most complete that he already has an owner, to the great misfortune of those who are lucky enough to have the necessary funds to obtain it.
Of course, this is one of the best examples of what Apple has achieved over the years. A reminder of the origins of a company that went from manufacturing a few dozen computers to installing them on the desks and pockets of millions of people.
