Sometimes we focus on the big features coming to iOS 18, like the AI feature set, Apple Intelligence, coming to iOS 18.1. However, Apple has added dozens of smaller features and changes that are gradually being discovered by developers and users who have accessed the iOS 18 public beta program.

One of these little features is the ability to record videos and listen to music simultaneously. As we mentioned, since forever, when the user accessed the camera to record a scene, if it played content, that content would stop and resume when the video recording was finished. For many people, this problem was very uncomfortable because sometimes it is not the audio that matters but the video. In fact, some users have used the option to record videos from the photos section of the Camera app by pressing for a few seconds while triggering. This has helped to bypass this native Apple limitation.
However, iOS 18 will remove this restriction and we will be able to listen to music while recording without pauses or cuts. This change does not require any external device or any special activation. In addition, it works not only with the iPhone itself, but also when we have connected devices such as AirPods, listening to any content, from WhatsApp audios to music from Spotify or other services.
