The long-awaited day has arrived. The Apple Vision Pro is not on the market, but almost. As already announced, reservations have been opened in the United States, the only territory in which the glasses will be available. At least for now. However, there are ways to purchase them if you are outside of that country.
Of course we already told you The process is simple, but the requirements are not that simple.. It’s not at all like buying an iPhone when it comes out in our country. However, if you are very interested in purchasing this product and want to do so now (or are just curious), we will walk you through the entire process.
Requirements and other information you need to know to purchase the Vision Pro outside the United States
- US Apple ID: The purchase is linked to an Apple account and your account must be from that country. Fortunately, it is possible to create an Apple ID with this origin even if we are in another territory, although we will have to enter a real address from that country.
- Payment method accepted by the American store: Payment method requirements are similar, but not identical, to those in Europe and other territories. You can check more details on Apple’s website.
- Have a tax address in the United States: Yes, to have a means of payment it is necessary to have residence in the United States and also for the purchasing process itself (even if you choose to collect them in store). The ideal here is to ask a friend or family member in the United States for help, which obviously not all of us have.
- They do not ship outside the United States: You will need to choose an Apple Store where you can collect the glasses or, alternatively, request that they be sent to an address in the United States.
- The official price does not take into account taxes: The Vision Pro has a base price of $3,499, $3,699, or $3,899 in their 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB versions respectively. And that’s a base price because you’ll need to factor in rates relative to the state you’re purchasing them in (i.e. the state the tax address you established is in) .
- It is recommended to use an iPhone or iPad: Indeed, during the process it is recommended to scan the face with Face ID and then use this data to know which strap size to select for the glasses.
- Use a VPN: You will need to make the purchase without any problem whether you are located in the United States, which can be done with a VPN connection.
Apple Vision Pro purchasing process
Once you know you meet the requirements, the reservation process is similar to what Apple is used to in USA. However, it is recommended do from the ‘Apple Store’ application in American version. This is where using your US Apple ID and the VPN set up in that region comes in.
Once you have it, here are the steps to follow on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the “Apple Store” application and enter the Vision Pro section.
- Click on “Pre-order” then “Get started”.
- Allow the app to recognize you via Face ID.
- Select the type of bracelet you need (also according to the suggestions made by Apple after the analysis) and the rest of the accessories.
- Add AppleCare+ if you want (costs an additional $499).
- Select if you want to pick them up in store (and choose which) or if you prefer to have them shipped.
- Arrange a date and location to attend the 25-minute driving training (the demo that is given in store).
- Finish by adding a payment method.
Vision Pro delivery times
Vision Pro deadlines are actually very simple: reservations from January 19 and deliveries from January 2. If you have chosen in-store collection, you must arrive on the day and time indicated when booking, while if it is a shipment it will arrive at a certain time during the day at the address you have chosen.
