There are many times when the Android market is so big, so wide, so varied, that it is difficult to make the decision to choose one or the other model when we need to renew. Because the mobiles must be changed from time to time, either because we are fed up with them, or because they end up irreparably damaged. Then it’s time to decide and many factors come into play.
In my specific case, from my previous mobile (a Xiaomi Mi 9), I switched to a Google Pixel 5 for various reasons. For a clean system, without “nonsense”, for a top photographic team, for design (I’m not going to lie to you) and a bit for work (hello Android betas). And I’m so happy with it that right now there’s only one brand that would make Pixels give up. This brand is none other than OPPO.
10 GOOGLE APPS THAT COULD BE SUCCESS
The devil knows more about being old than anything
Bien lo sabe Dios y nuestra señora de la pata de palo (esto es de Ángel Garó, y el título de arriba es de Javier Cansado, y todo se debe a que es viernes) que en los años que llevo analizando móviles he probado prácticamente de everything. Whoever writes here has been talking about mobiles since 2009 and I have enough articles and analysis in the back to say that all brands have passed through my hands. And several times, in fact.
As far as ownership goes, and speaking of smartphones only, it all started with an HTC Hero and continues with the Google Pixel 5 that I own today. Many brands, many models, and for now I think I’ll stick to the Pixel for a few years. Eye, I think. I already loved Nexus back then, and I did the same with the Pixel 3a XL sitting in my drawer and with the current Pixel 5.
But in recent years I was able to gradually fall in love with another brand of phones that slowly but surely conquered the market. I’m talking about OPPO, a brand that is now in its second coming (yes, some models like the OPPO Find 5 were already sold in Europe before its second landing) and that walk on firmer ground.
I was able to test some of its latest models, from cheap profile phones like the OPPO A5 2020 to models that are more powerful and called for bigger things, like the OPPO Find X3 Lite. Or like the OPPO Reno4 5G which made me fall in love on many levels. And I can only admit that I think OPPO is the manufacturer that is doing the best right now.
A signature, an increasingly recognizable stamp
Without neglecting at any time the invoice of their phones (or their price, let’s talk about it clearly), OPPO makes them have a fairly clear signature. We are talking about phones that stand out for their autonomy, although some of the blame lies with a layer that is quite aggressive with the execution plane in the background. We’re talking about phones that, at least for now, are showing durability. And we’re talking about phones that still perform a bit above what’s expected of them. Three points to remember.
OPPO too proves to be powerful in photographic matter, something key in our time, and there have been several years in which it competes to have the best photographic smartphone of the season. Not to mention that the OPPO Find X5 Pro (add whatever dose of subjectivity you want) could very well be the phone of the year 2022 once the season is over. And yes, I put the iPhone in the equation.
It’s not the only one doing it right, but OPPO knows how to be the best
Other brands are also playing their tricks in the best possible way and in each of them there are examples of the strong competitiveness of the market. But in my opinion, still in my opinion, OPPO is the one doing it best right now and if they don’t continue with Pixels (until Pixel 8 you don’t change phones in this house) I think that I would throw yes or yes to one of the latest OPPOs ever released when the time comes. It is right to recognize that things are done well when they are done. Today, OPPO is doing very well. Tomorrow… we’ll see tomorrow.
