Foldable phones, despite their price, are gradually penetrating the public and manufacturers are betting on them as a complement to their traditional mobile ranges. However, from Apple, rumors still place this type of device as something far away. AND maybe even more than we imaginedif we pay attention to the latest leaks from Ross Young.
Young, who generally has a good idea of Apple’s future from his contacts with display makers, revealed in a report that the foldable iPhone will not see the light of day until 2025, two years later than Ming-Chi Kuo thought. Dylan, another backer, also said we aren’t going to see a foldable iPhone “for years.”
Apple “doesn’t seem in a hurry” to enter the folding market, they comment from MacRumors. In Cupertino we want to wait patiently for this type of phone to become more democratic, and especially for it to become cheaper to convince more people.
A 20-inch foldable screen MacBook?
But that doesn’t mean Apple hasn’t stopped investigating. The same source report also suggests that Apple is doing experiences a 20-inch foldable screen MacBook. That screen would be folded in half, so we’d have a roughly 10-inch laptop with half the screen also acting as a keyboard and/or trackpad. Unfolded, these 20 inches could be an oversized computer to run an external keyboard and mouse.
In any case, let’s be patient, because this foldable screen MacBook is still an experiment and if it ends up becoming a reality, it would arrive in 2026 or 2027. In other words: Apple is working on foldable devices, but there is still a long way to go before we see them.
