Russia would be looking for another new version of Android with "Russian Google"

Android, Googlequot, quotRussian, Russia, version

In recent years Android has proven to be the ideal operating system for everyone given their freedom and power. However, at the political level it seems to create tension due to Google's dominance and the influence that the US has shown it has, as it has the potential to cripple Huawei in the western market.

Russia has for decades been one of the great powers that has had the largest number of conflicts with the United States. They can't, and shouldn't rely on software that can turn them overnight, and they seem to be planning to develop a new alternative to Android.

Russia could support Yandex if it chose another Android

In recent days there has been a change in the Russian government. Following the resignation of Dmitry Medvedev as prime minister, the post will be chaired by Mikhail Mishustin (now the President of the government of the Russian Federation). This change of premier looks crucial to the development of a new Android model for Russia.

Another new option on Android is called Sailfish X and it won't be freeSailfish OS, a Russian alternative for Android.

The new prime minister said in the last few hours the government would fully support Yandex, which quickly contributed to the company's revenue growth of 6.6%. It is important to note that Yandex is Russia's most important technology company, known as «Russian Google».

According to the analyst Eldar Murtazin, Russian authorities would ask Yandex to develop a new operating system, a request that Yandex had initially rejected. Mikhail Mishustin's statements provide some insight into the reasons for "Yandex government support"

Not that so far Russia has relied on Google for Google, much. Russia already had the Aurora OS, a program created by the creators of Sailfish OS, as we did not know that it would be installed on several Russian government-built tablets by Huawei. Although it looks like this development would not meet expectations.
