There is no need to hack or use pirated IPTV to watch quality content; There’s also no need to purchase a subscription to Netflix or another streaming service. What many people don’t know is that there are free services that offer series and films for which you don’t have to pay a single euro.
These types of services are known as FAST, acronym for “Free Advertising-Supported Television”, or free television financed by advertising. In other words, it is a phenomenon similar to traditional television channels, which broadcast unencrypted and offer free content in exchange for the broadcast of advertisements, but adapted to current technology.
Many smart TVs already have these services pre-installed. Samsung, LG and Xiaomi TVs already come with free services like Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels, and they’re not the only ones.
Free series from Sony Pictures
Today, Sony Pictures announced the European release of Sony One, its new free television service which provides access to licensed content. Europe is one of the countries that will benefit from this service, which will first be available on Samsung and LG televisions as part of the Samsung TV Plus and LG channels respectively. It is striking that Sony TVs do not receive this platform at the moment, although Sony Pictures is an independent company.
The most striking thing about Sony One is that will offer access to no less than 54 channels, each aimed at a different audience; This way, no matter what we want to see at any given time, we will surely find something. Channels will group content by genre and theme, which will be reflected in the name of each.
At launch, these will be the Sony One channels available in Europe:
- Sony One Comedy TV: Light comedies to watch with family and friends, like Seinfeld, The nanny Yes Los Goldbergs.
- Sony One Thriller TV: Action and emotion series like Break the bad, You better call Saul Yes Justified.
- Sony One Favorites: Timeless classics like Delighted (haunted), Community Yes Dawson Creek (Dawson grows up).
- Sony One Comedy HITS: Classic comedy films with iconic scenes like Jerry Maguire Yes Half brothers (Brothers for balls).
- Sony One Action HITS: Blockbuster action movies like District 9and the sagas Men in black Yes Zombie Land.
- Sony One Shark tank: Channel dedicated exclusively to the program Shark tank (Trading with sharks) and its adaptations to various countries.
- Sony One The Dragon’s Lair: Channel dedicated exclusively to the program The Dragon’s Lair (Your luck).
- Sony One blacklist: Channel dedicated exclusively to the series The blacklist.
In addition to these channels which will be shared between all regions, Sony One will also offer content adapted to each territory; and this means that it will offer content in Spanish in Europe and in the languages of each country in their respective regions, including France, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
Channels available on Sony One on Samsung and LG TVs
Sony One will be available in Europe from April, although at the moment the precise day on which the channels will be available has not been specified.
