This does not mean that the Global S10 was a bad call or should be rejected. Of course, the company has decided that instead of withdrawing it, as it does in each generation when it arrives new, it will maintain the market, reducing its price.
Samsung Galaxy S10 down in price
At a more familiar Apple conference than Samsung, the Korean company decided to keep the rest of the S10 family for sale but lower the official price. This is how they look, at least on their website:
- Samsung Galaxy S10e: from 659 euros (before 709 euros).
- Samsung Galaxy S10e: from 759 euros (previously from 909 euros).
- Samsung Galaxy S10e: from 859 euros (previously from 1009 euros).
Samsung's website shows that the current price of the S10e is 749 euros but we understand that it is a mistake as its original price was lower.
However, for some distributors the cost is very low, as we see for example in Amazon:
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus for 682.42 eur
Samsung Galaxy S10 for 599 euros
Samsung Galaxy S10e for 448 euros
Fighting with Apple
This decision by Samsung is not seen by those who are surprised to see how Apple not only lowered the price of the 2018 iPhone when it launched the iPhone 11, but also laid the foundation for that family cheaper than last year.
Although Apple will not start competing for price with its competitors, it makes the cut in this case hurts its rivals because one of the most controversial issues against apple signing is its cost structure.
With the new pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S20, with its high performance model exceeding 1500 euros, is allowed to go up.
