Another model of the Samsung Galaxy A series has started to receive its Christmas present with a little delay: the Samsung Galaxy A42 has started updating to Android 12 with One UI 4.0, the house layer, on top.
Samsung Galaxy A42 was launched in October 2020 as a mid-range mobile phone with Snapdragon 750G, with Android 10 and One UI 2.5. In March 2021 they updated Android 11 with One UI 3.0 and now it’s here its second big update.
Second big update
In the Samsung Galaxy A series, the average Samsung Galaxy A5x usually gets all the attention, but the “lower” versions become a more attractive option. Without going any further, the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is a powerful mobile of multimedia games with Snapdragon 750G with the only concession of its screen, which has HD+ resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G was presented at the end of 2020 and has already received its first major system update, to Android 11. The second is starting to arrive, according to reports from Sammobile, for users in Poland. This is the update with version A426BXXU3CUL9 and the december security patch.
Samsung has localized the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G update to Android 12 for Europe by February 2022, so expect him to make the leap from Poland to other countries in the coming weeks. The terminal could receive a third update according to Samsung’s three-year update regulations, although it depends on each model: we will find out later.
For now, if you have a Samsung Galaxy A42 5G, the best thing to do is go to menu A.Settings > System Update, and find if it is available. Otherwise, you can choose to download the firmware and install it with Odin if it’s the exact same model, but it’s wiser to wait: it shouldn’t take more than two weeks. The terminal has already been updated to Android 12 also in South Korea and the United States.
