Samsung continues to make progress in updating its mobile phones in 2022 as it did at the end of 2021. We can say that it is currently one of the brands that takes the most care of this aspect of its devices. A good example is the Samsung Galaxy A42, a terminal that we analyzed at the beginning of last year, although it was launched at the end of 2020. It came with Android 10, although in March 2021 it was updated to Android 11.
This time at Samsung they have been even faster since we are in the middle of January and this model is starting to receive Android 12, which very clearly shows the improvement of Samsung in this regard.
Upgrade to Android 12 with One UI 4
It was the Sammobile portal that warned that users in Poland were receiving a notification that they had an update available. Android 12 is inside this new firmware, and as expected also One UI 4, which we were able to analyze a few weeks ago.
This firmware, which has as build number A426BXXU3CUL9, also updates the security patch, although it does so until December 2021, not January 2022.
Recall that One UI 4 includes the new color customization system extracted from the wallpaper, the new Virtual RAM function, etc.
