Samsung is an Android phone manufacturer that commitment to innovation like little. Its last two foldable phones were the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, two that caught the eye of many.
This new screen prototype is called “Flex In & Out” and allows the user to fold the screen both outdoors and indoors. A novelty that will offer other types of user experiences, provided that Samsung finally decides to take it to some of its next foldables.
This ability to fold 360 degrees means that the hinge system uses a completely different design seen in the folders it has on the Spanish market.
One of the advantages of this hinge system is that creates a less visible crease
This teardrop hinge, as it is also called, also has the merit of adopting a looser shape when the device is folded inwards. This new foldable screen technology could see the light of day in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, although that would remain to be seen, as it would be a pretty drastic step forward.
If Samsung finally decides to integrate it into its next Galaxy Z Fold, the reason would be based on the need to remove this crease which is currently formed with the ones you already have on the market.
In any case, through Gizmochina it is not the first time that the Korean brand has presented a folding screen in this way, since in 2021 it showed a similar device in South Korea. One that instead of collapsing and collapsing, it does so in an “S” shape with segments.
