Samsung mobiles stopped working with Mirrorlink

Mirrorlink, mobiles, Samsung, stopped, working

Although mobiles have greatly improved the interface when using their screens and connecting them to other devices, in cars this has not always been the case. In a few years we have been able to use a technology called MirrorLink in cars with compatible touchscreens.

We mentioned this in other articles, though not the most commonly used technology as it is for car manufacturers to integrate it. Besides that there are a few models from Seattle, Toyota, Peugeot and other brands that they use.

Mobile manufacturers should provide compatibility. One of those backing them is Samsung, which has announced that it will break that compliance.

Samsung mobiles will no longer be able to use MirrorLink

MirrorLink requires that we have a vehicle that is compatible with the program.

The company has decided to end the support provided to its mobile phones by allowing them to connect with cars over a cable. From the June 1st new users will not be able to connect their mobiles to their cars.

This will not prevent current users from using it, but will not be allowed to create new links. This means if we have a cell phone and put it in a format, we can't connect it again.

Car mode and My Car support is also running

In conjunction with MirrorLink, Samsung has confirmed that it will stop supporting other alternative technologies.

One of them Car Mode, is another way to make Android Auto the company we launched five years ago. Another is that Find My Car, allowing us to get the car from our cellphone marking where we parked.

The two applications will cease to be effective on the same day as the expiry of the MirrorLink sponsorship, June 1.
